Chinese Braised Beef with Chilli and Star Anise Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 kg Beef brisket cut into chunks
- 2 Star anise
- 3 Dried red chilies
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 Ginger thumb-sized piece, sliced
- ¼ cup Soy sauce
- ¼ cup Dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon Brown sugar
- 2 cups Beef broth
- 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. 
- Add the garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant. 
- Add the beef chunks and brown on all sides. 
- Add the star anise and dried red chilies, and stir well. 
- Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine. 
- Add the beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Simmer for 2 hours or until the beef is tender. 
- Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
