Chinese Braised Beef with Chilli and Star Anise Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1 kg Beef brisket cut into chunks
- 2 Star anise
- 3 Dried red chilies
- 4 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 Ginger thumb-sized piece, sliced
- ¼ cup Soy sauce
- ¼ cup Dark soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon Brown sugar
- 2 cups Beef broth
- 2 tablespoon Vegetable oil
Heat the vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat.
Add the garlic and ginger, and sauté until fragrant.
Add the beef chunks and brown on all sides.
Add the star anise and dried red chilies, and stir well.
Pour in the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
Add the beef broth, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Simmer for 2 hours or until the beef is tender.
Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
