Ingredients

  • 2 lbs spare ribs
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger sliced
  • 2 stalks green onions cut into 2-inch pieces

Instructions 

  1. 1. Cut the spare ribs into 2-inch pieces.
  2. 2. Blanch the ribs in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  3. 3. Heat a large pot over medium heat, add the sugar and stir until it caramelizes.
  4. 4. Add the ribs to the pot and stir to coat with the caramelized sugar.
  5. 5. Add the soy sauce, dark soy sauce, garlic, ginger, and green onions. Stir well.
  6. 6. Pour in the water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 1.5 hours, or until the ribs are tender.
  7. 7. Serve hot with steamed rice.
