- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg egg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- ½ cup sliced almonds
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in the almond extract, vanilla extract, and egg.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Flatten slightly and press an almond slice into the center of each cookie.
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
