  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ½ cup sliced almonds

Instructions 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the almond extract, vanilla extract, and egg.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on a baking sheet. Flatten slightly and press an almond slice into the center of each cookie.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
