Ingredients

  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Water room temperature
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce optional, for serving
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil optional, for serving

Instructions 

  1. Crack the eggs into a mixing bowl and whisk until smooth.
  2. Add the water and salt to the eggs, and whisk until well combined.
  3. Strain the mixture through a fine sieve into a heatproof bowl or dish.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid to prevent water droplets from falling into the custard.
  5. Place the bowl in a steamer over boiling water. Steam on medium heat for about 10 minutes, or until the custard is set.
  6. Remove from the steamer and let it cool slightly before serving. Drizzle with soy sauce and sesame oil if desired.
