Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 cups sticky rice soaked overnight
  • 4 pieces dried lotus leaves soaked until soft
  • 200 grams chicken thigh cut into small pieces
  • 4 pieces shiitake mushrooms soaked and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon water

Instructions 

  1. 1. Soak sticky rice overnight. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Soak lotus leaves until soft. Drain and set aside.
  3. 3. In a bowl, mix chicken, mushrooms, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, sesame oil, and cornstarch slurry. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  4. 4. In a pan, cook the marinated chicken and mushrooms until done. Set aside.
  5. 5. Place a portion of sticky rice on a lotus leaf, add some chicken and mushroom mixture, and top with more sticky rice. Wrap the leaf around the filling.
  6. 6. Steam the wrapped lotus leaves for 60 minutes.
  7. 7. Serve hot.
