Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 1 whole fish (about 1.5 lbs)
  • ¼ cup rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch (mixed with 2 tablespoons water)
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 1 inch piece ginger, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. Clean the fish and make diagonal cuts on both sides.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a wok, add ginger and garlic, and stir-fry until fragrant.
  3. 3. Add the fish and cook until both sides are golden brown.
  4. 4. Mix rice vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and water. Pour over the fish.
  5. 5. Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. 6. Add cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. Stir gently.
  7. 7. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.
